Tree Story Exhibition
The Story of Wigan through its trees was launched to celebrate Wigan Borough’s 50th anniversary. Through input from local communities and with generous support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this project invites you to discover and celebrate the trees that shape our borough’s landscape and heritage.

WoodGruff and The Free Spirits
Step beyond the stage and into the magic of the woods in this immersive woodland adventure. Join WoodGruff and The Free Spirits for an interactive family experience that begins on stage and then takes you - literally - into the enchanting woodland surroundings. Blending live theatre, music, playing in the woods and interactive storytelling, this is a truly immersive experience that celebrates imagination and nature. Suitable for families and children of all ages.
Various dates between 22nd July and 2nd August.

Haigh Parkrun
A free, fun and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you! For first timers - simply register using the link below. Nature walks with Discover The Wild: Summer Nature Walk
Immerse yourself in the sounds and sights of summer! Take a walk through the woods and hedgerows and explore the insects, birds, flowers and fungi that may call Haigh Hall home for the summer. From bird visitors from Africa to our colourful summer flowers, we will amble around the park appreciating some wonderful species and learning about how they fit in to the ecosystem, how we identify them as well as appreciate their beauty. It is summer so expect lots of butterflies, but don't worry, even if it rains there is still lots to encounter and get hands on with!

Twilight Walk
Join the Haigh team experts for a relaxing Twilight Summer Nature Walk, where the golden glow of sunset fades into the gentle hush of dusk. Stroll along our scenic paths, breathe in the warm evening air, and discover the sights and sounds that come alive as day turns to night. There’ll be a guided walk with fascinating insights into evening wildlife and plants from the team, alongside the peaceful chorus of birds settling and nocturnal creatures awakening. Perfect for families, nature lovers, walkers of all abilities, and anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors.

Foodie Friday
The now legendary Foodie Friday nights are back - bigger and better than ever before! There will be many of your favourite street food traders to choose from, as well as some newbies and of course, the usual quality musical entertainment.

Haigh Food and Drink Festival
Discover, taste and celebrate the best of our region at the brand new Haigh Food and Drink Festival, set in the stunning surroundings of Haigh Woodland Park. Taking place over two days, this summer event will shine a spotlight on local sellers and suppliers, bringing together independent food traders, artisan producers and drink specialists, in partnership with The Market Company. Alongside fantastic food and drink, visitors can enjoy a lively programme of entertainment, creating a relaxed, festival atmosphere perfect for a summer day out with family and friends.
Saturday 8th August, 10am to 8pm and Sunday 9th August, 10am to 6pm.

Summer Haigh Days: All in a Mouse's Night
This marvellous mousey tale combines puppetry and play in a gentle, non-verbal performance. Meet Mouse, a curious little fellow who sees the house at night as the perfect playground for adventure and exploration. Dreaming of travelling into the vastness of space, Mouse sets off on a journey to the moon. With a homemade rocket and plenty of determination, Mouse embarks on a wonderful adventure that is sure to delight young imaginations. Designed for families with young children, this charming production features sensory experiences, engaging puppetry and accessible storytelling that can be enjoyed by everyone—without a single word being spoken.

Summer Haigh Days: Roarsome Days
Get ready for a prehistoric adventure this summer at Roarsome Days, part of our exciting Summer Haigh Days programme, designed to create unforgettable memories for families. Step back in time and come face-to-face with a spectacular array of life-sized walkabout dinosaurs, including Cory the Talking Dinosaur, and his roarsome prehistoric friends! Meet, greet and snap plenty of photos as these incredible creatures roam about. Young explorers can also enrol in our Dinosaur Ranger Training, where they'll learn the skills needed to become an official dinosaur ranger through a fun and interactive experience.

The history of Haigh tour with Jim Meehan
Join Jim in the Haigh Community Room for a history talk on the hall, its estate, and the people who kept it running. Then enjoy a walk to key estate locations to discover how the estate operated and learn more about the people behind it. This is a free event with Jim taking donations on the day for Wigan and Leigh Hospice. Car park charges will apply.
