Our new Courtyard Cafe and Tea Room has just opened and we're delighted to welcome All You Knead, the newest addition to the Kitchen Courtyard.

We're right in the middle of a huge redevelopment project. The park is still open for a fantastic day out but please be aware there is some disruption.

Haigh Woodland Park has always been a fantastic, family-friendly day out. But with significant investment by our partners Wigan Council we're transforming the park into an even more amazing attraction packed with things to do.

 

Our main car park is open 6am until 9pm during the Summer and is now a pay on exit car park. Simply drive in, collect your ticket and pay when you leave. The paystation will close at 9pm and visitors will have 30 mins to leave the car park following payment.

Once you visit, you'll want to spend days exploring this fantastic destination. Lucky for you, there's a wonderful hotel and spa being developed at the park's heart, within the walls of the magnificent and historic Haigh Hall.

History of Haigh Woodland Park

Once the home of Earls and Lords, Haigh Hall is surrounded by 250 acres of park and woodland, with magnificent views across the Douglas Valley to the Welsh Hills. Along with spectacular views across the Douglas Valley to the Welsh hills, there are 250 acres of park and woodland surrounding Haigh Woodland Park.

How to get here

Haigh Woodland Park is within easy reach of both the M6 (Junction 27) and the M61 (Junction 6).

If approaching from the M6, take the A49 towards Standish, then the B5239 to Haigh. Look out for the B5239 and Aspull, then Haigh, when leaving the M61. Alternatively, Haigh Woodland Park can easily be found close to the two main A roads, the A6 and the A49. The B roads to look for are the B5238 and the B5239.
